Investment Criteria

Insight Capital seeks opportunities with the following characteristics:

• A management team or business owner who is ethical, honest and an expert in their industry, and who is in need of capital and/or assistance in the growth, financial and/or strategic management areas of the specific business.
  
• A management team or business owner who is professional and hard-working, with whom we would enjoy working, and who would enjoy working with us.
  
• A solid business model in a thriving market (we can become comfortable with businesses that need a little work before they can “click”, but the overall potential must be present).
  
• Strong growth opportunities, either via organic or acquisitive growth.
  
• Margin enhancement opportunities within current operations.
  
• Low to medium technology.
  
• Southeast based.
  
• Insight Capital is open to most business sectors, but has specific experience in environmental, waste management, contract services, municipal services and various operational services businesses. We are not interested in reviewing proposals from real estate companies and early stage start-ups.
  
• We are not necessarily driven by an exit or liquidity event in the short or medium term, and depending upon the needs of management, can operate businesses with our partners for the long term.
  
• We prefer majority ownership positions, but are open to minority participation given the right circumstances. We do require our senior management partners to have significant at-risk positions in their respective companies.
  
• Insight's typical partner company will have revenues between $2-20 MM, and equity needs from $500,000 – $1,500,000.
  
• We are open to backing seasoned professionals leaving to start their own businesses, and/or management-led buyouts.
  
• Insight will invest as the sole investor (in partnership with management) or in participation with other investors.
